21 days of good deeds
As part of the activities marking the event, MTN staff visited selected orphanages and motherless babies’ homes, across Nigeria.
They also donated household and food items. This year’s edition, also focused on improving the educational sector.
Motivated by the theme: Investing in Education for All, the telecom giant also held empowerment seminars for teachers and organised reading sessions for students.
According to Mr. Michael Ikpoki, Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, “Seventeen digital libraries were set up in primary and secondary schools across the six geo-political zones in Nigeria. Training and empowerment seminars were conducted for one hundred teachers of the Lagos State Ministry of Education and a book reading session was organized for students to imbibe the reading habit in them.”
A quiz competition was also organised for schools, with Gbaja Girls Secondary School and New Era Girls Secondary School, emerging as winners.
