A man in Ebonyi State has sent his kinsman to the great beyond over N200 debt.
For owing his neighbour a paltry sum of N200, a man has been sent to his early grave.
The incident reportedly happened in the Amanato community in Onicha, Igboeze area of Ebonyi State, when a resident beheaded a middle aged man because he could not pay him the money he owed.
Eyewitnesses say the community has been thrown into utter confusion when they woke up to meet the headless body of one of their sons dumped along the road.
It was gathered that the deceased was beheaded at night when he was returning home from a popular drinking joint.
According to residents, the incident was not unconnected with an irreconcilable differences between the deceased and his assailant whose name was given as Ogo Nwaji over the debt of N200.
It was learnt that the suspect allegedly confronted the deceased where they were drinking local gin and requested that the deceased pay him the N200 debt he was owing him but the deceased, according to others who were in the bar, claimed he did not owe Nwaji any money.
An argument was said to have erupted which led to exchange of abusive words between the duo, with Nwaji leaving the scene angrily, vowing that the victim would soon come to an ugly end.
When he got home, he allegedly brought out his and laid ambush for his victim and hacked off his head as he was returning from a drinking joint.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police and has confessed to the crime.
