Reports have it that the suspect, Hussain Zubairu, who is being detained at the State Police Headquarters in the capital, Lokoja, had stabbed the woman, Bose Muhammed, with a scissors because she told him to amend his ways.

The sad incident happened in Idogido community of Okene Local Government Area of the state.

It was learnt that a close friend of the deceased had visited her and Muhammed and the friend were said to be talking about a lost mobile phone when Zubairu interfered but the deceased cautioned him not to meddle in their discussion and rather, should try to become a responsible man instead of being hooked on drugs and alcohol.

The reprimand did not sit well with Zubairu who was said to have vowed to kill the woman for daring to insult him and few minutes later, descended on her with the scissors.

A source in the community describes the suspect as very violent and was avoided by residents  due to his addiction.

“Many residents within that area know he is a drug addict and people have been avoiding him.

Bose had always been trying to avoid him because of his troubles. On that day he killed her, the victim and her friend were chatting and he interrupted.

She told him to mind his business and that infuriated him. He removed a pair of scissors he hid in his trousers, stabbed her in the stomach and fled.

The woman lost a lot of blood. She was pronounced dead on getting to the hospital. She was pregnant, but was not living with her husband.”

The friend was discussing the issue with the deceased when the suspect interrupted. She (Muhammed) challenged him for doing so and it degenerated into an argument.

In the process, the suspect used a pair of scissors to stab her. Before she was rushed to the hospital, she died.

The case has been transferred to the SCID and the suspect will be charged to court soon.”
