Pastor arrested for shooting colleague to death in Osun
A man of God has been arrested by the police in Osun State for allegedly shooting his colleague to death following an altercation.
Punch reports that the suspect used a locally made gun to kill the victim following an undisclosed disagreement in Ikire town in the Irewole Local Government area of the state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Folasade Odoro, in a statement released to the press, said the reason for the action of Pastor Abiola had yet to be ascertained.
She added that the murder weapon has been recovered from the suspect who was arrested following a report made to the police by a relative of the deceased cleric.
“Pastor Abiola has confessed to the police. Investigation into the killing has started and the suspect will soon be charged to court,” the PPRO said.
She also stated that the remains of the late pastor had been deposited at the Catholic Hospital’s morgue in the Oluyoro area, Apomu, for an autopsy.
