Man in the dock for breaking into ex-girlfriend's room to steal 100k
A man has been arraigned in court for allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend's room to steal a huge sum of money.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Gabriel Ekundayo, the complainant, Favour Elijah, had reported to the police that Godwin had broken into her room at No. 17, Atam Street, Empire, Surulere, sometime in March, to steal the money which she got from her contribution group.
“The accused entered her apartment with the spare key he used to have and took the N100,000 with her Itel cell phone valued at N19,000," Ekundayo told the court presided over by the Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni.
He added that the offence contravened Section 285(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
However, when the charge was read to Godwin, he pleaded not guilty and Dan-Oni granted him bail in the sum of N50,000, with one surety in like sum, while she adjourned the case till April 25 for further hearing.
