Kanye West has turned to military glam for inspiration of his second and final collaboration with French clothing brand, A.P.C. The rapper, who has a penchant for army-themed clothes himself, worked with A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou to bring the collection to fruition, designing a total of 14 different pieces that is billed to hit stores on July 17.
Kanye West Premiers New A.P.C. Collection Inspired By Military Style
The rapper reportedly visited a big military archive in Paris for these new designs
Looks like dressing like Kanye will cost you a pretty penny. Pieces range in price from $90 for a plain white T-shirt to $2,865 for a fur-lined parka, according to U.K DailyMail.
Kanye reportedly visited Mr Touitou's personal military archives in Paris before the pair began designing the line. The designer told Style.com, "You know, when you design something, you have to start with something, so that's where we were, at my big archives to start with something."According to Mr. Touitou, the rap star was a characteristically perfectionist when it came to creating the final pieces, so much so that he wanted to change everything right up until the last minute. One of the pieces that clearly takes cues from this visit is the priciest design - an army green hooded parka jacket lined with fox fur and faux sheepskin. If the rapper's second collaboration with A.P.C. is anything like his first, shoppers need to be quick off the mark. His 2013 capsule collection, which was launched last July, sold out within just a day and caused the brand's U.S. website to crash.
