Prostitute sells her newborn child for N20,000 in Bayelsa

A commercial sex worker in Bayelsa has done the unthinkable as she pawned off her daughter for a paltry sum.

The police in Bayelsa have been called in to investigate after a woman allegedly sold her day-old child for the sum of N20,000.

The mother, said to be a commercial sex worker who operates within Yenagoa, the state capital, is said to have made the trade with a family resident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

News of the incident was confirmed by the police spokesperson in the state, Alex Akhigbe who said:
