Company supports community school in promoting assertiveness in students

SPAR’s Marketing Manager, Emmanuel Isangediok thanked the school authorities and teachers for impacting knowledge to the children.

The day which also doubled as a French speaking day showcased French language competitions amongst the various classes in the junior and senior secondary school divisions which were invited to participate in the competition. The pupils also engaged in French themed activities like drama presentations, poetry and dance all done in French Language.

Winners were given SPAR Gift Cards while the Winning Schools received Printers for their respective Schools in the 1st 2nd and 3rd positions. Refreshments were provided by the hypermarket and other participants went home with consolation prices.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Uche Edokobi, Head of Department Languages, Ilupeju Junior Grammar School stated that the day was conceived of a need to encourage multi-linguicism amongst children. She noted that Nigeria, a member of ECOWAS is surrounded by French speaking neighboring countries. She further stated that children should be encouraged to learn and speak French in other to compete favourably in today’s global community where young people could learn and actively contribute their own quota anywhere in the world thus promoting regional integration.

SPAR’s Marketing Manager Mr. Emmanuel Isangediok expressed deep appreciation to the school authorities especially the teachers for their positive efforts in impacting knowledge to the children. According to him, language proficiency and mental assertiveness affords learners more opportunities in the future.

“At SPAR, adding value to the community in which we operate is key”, He said.

Mr. Isangediok also re-emphasized SPAR’s readiness to support similar events in the communities that they operate.
