Three male students of the Edo State School of Nursing, Kenneth Egbai, 26, Paul Aghama, 22 amd Jeffrey Osemwegie, 24, have been arrested and arraigned before an Oredo Magistrate’s Court sitting in Benin City, the state capital, for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl.

Three students have been docked in Edo State have been docked for allegedly defiling a 6-year-old girl.
The suspects were docked on Wednesday, October 21, on a two-count charge bordering on indecent assault.
In his evidence in chief, the police prosecutor, Corporal Evborhuan Kingsley, attached to the Family Unit of the State Police Command, told the court that the accused committed the act between the months of March and May 2015, on the premises of the school hostel on located Sapele Road, when the abducted the little girl and assaulted her.
“The suspects used their nails to penetrate the victim’s vagina and, thereby, committed an offence punishable under Section 360 of the Criminal Code, Cap 48, Vol. II, Law of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria, 1976, now applicable in Edo State.”
When the charges were read to them, the three accused pleaded not guilty and the presiding magistrate, Mrs. M. Adebanjo, granted them bail in the sum of N300,000 each, while the case was adjourned till November 20, 2015, for mention.
