An apprentice who led a robbery gang to raid his master's shop in Lagos says the devil led him into committing the crime.
Emeka who was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), of the Lagos State Police Command, said his friends, Ebuka Ubajide and Ifeanyi Okoye, sold the idea of robbing his Oga's shop and he fell into the temptation without thinking twice.
“My friends sold the idea of attacking my boss’ shop to me. I felt there would be money inside the shop, so I invited them to rob my boss. We were caught and arrested right in the act of breaking into my master’s shop.
I have never done this sort of thing before. This is my first time. I regret my action.”
Confirming the arrest of the three suspects, a statement from the Command reveal that two guns and an iron cutter were recovered from the gang.
The police added that the suspects were allegedly behind series of burglaries at Mushin and Ladipo Markets.
