A 43-year-old South African man who is married to four wives is on a mission to encourage other African men to become polygamous.

Musa Mseleku, a businessman from Port Shepstone in KwaZulu-Natal, told Daily Sun that he is very happy to marry four women as they give him so much peace of mind and is urging other young men to tow his path and join the polygamy club.

Mseleku who is married to Busisiwe MaCele, Nokukhanya MaYeni, Thobile Mseleku and Mbali MaNgwabe and have 10 children with them, was recently featured in a reality show called 'Uthando Nes’thembu', which means 'Love and Polygamy', and he extolled the virtues of polygamy and what he has gained being married to four wives.

The reality show gives Musa and his beautiful wives the platform to showcase how being in a polygamy union has been working for them so far and they gleefully shared their experiences with viewers.

Mseleku said that though some people have criticized him for marrying more than one wife, he wanted to change people’s perceptions of polygamy.

“I want to show men that you can be in a polygamous relationship and also be considerate. My wives impose restrictions on me. I have to be home an hour earlier than them so I can prepare to spend time with all of them,” he said.

One of his wives, Thobile, said:

“I knew what I was getting into and didn’t have a problem with it. I also come from a polygamous family.”

She said the other wives are like sisters to her and they all rely on each other for advice and help.

His other wives describe Mseleku as a loving, humble and respectful man who provides for his family.

Mseleku took the time to describe each of his wives, telling their strong and weak points on the show.

His first wife, MaCele, is a woman Mseleku said was not a woman of many words but would strike back if provoked, and does not hide her feeling at all.

The second wife, MaYeni, according to Mseleku, is calm but will push back when necessary. He described her as a good listener who will ask for clarification when she does not understand what is being said.

Mseleku describes the third wife, MaKhumalo, as an open book who is more open and does not hide her feeling no matter what happens.

The fourth wife, MaNgwabe, continued Mseleku, is the quiet one who does not forgive easily as she can hold a grudge for a long time.
