According to residents, the new set of bodies could have been dumped by ritualists because vital body parts like the breasts, tongue and private parts were removed.

A resident identified as Iyiola, spoke about the incident:

“The spot where we found these women on Tuesday is just some distance away from the canal. The bodies were dumped behind a house on the street.

Just last week, six women were picked from a canal in this area. The bodies were found after a foul smell pervaded our area. On Tuesday, we were shocked to find two fresh corpses. We strongly suspect that the women were killed by ritual killers.

The bodies were stripped naked, while their breasts and private parts had been cut off. When are we going to stop seeing dead bodies?”

As worried residents have been making intensive efforts to locate the relatives of the murdered women, it was gathered that officials of the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, have removed the bodies and taken them to the mortuary of a general hospital in Yaba.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Joe Offor, has confirmed the new findings, adding that relatives of the women had yet to show up, while the police have intensified investigation to determine the cause of the women's' death.
