70% of Pulse Nigeria Poll readers vote that they would accept a woman her husband married secretly.

Would you accept your husband's secret wife?

A troubled reader, Agatha, is facing a serious dilemma over a new wife her husband's family married for him secretly because she has been unable to bear him male children.

The new woman is pregnant and her husband has told her to either accept the situation or leave his house.

Read her letter here:

"My name is Agatha and I have been married for 15 years now and blessed with five daughters. All through the years, I know what I have passed through in the hands of my husband's family, especially his mother and sisters who blame me for the inability of their son having a male child.

They have come to our house several times to physically assault me, and all my efforts in the family is never recognised because they do not see my children as theirs because they are girls.

As if that was not enough, they went ahead to marry a young girl for him and kept her in the village. I only got to know when one of his cousins who has been a bit pathetic to my cause called me to tell of the development, even telling me the girl is already pregnant.

When I confronted my husband, he told me clearly that if I am not comfortable, I could as well leave with my 'useless girls', as if they are not his.

I am confused and don't know what to do as he has been making life very difficult for me and the children. I don't my children to suffer and at the same time, I don't like what he is making them go through for no fault of theirs.

Agatha."
