But the emergence of these leaders did not go down well with the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC), because the candidates they had handpicked lost out in the scheme of things.
Swiftly, the APC came out with a statement disclaiming the victories of the two, labeling them traitors, vowing to sanction the duo.
But many Nigerians see the emergence of Saraki and Dogara as a break from godfatherism, with the reasoning that the members of the National Assembly refused to be tele-guided in the choice of their leaders.
But a majority of Pulse Nigeria Poll readers believe the new NASS leaders are traitors to their party.
