A 19-year-old boy has been sentenced to 28 years in prison after he stabbed his mother to death and held a party with the corpse still in the house.
A Miami, USA teenager, Kit Darrant, has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for murdering his mother after he chocked her and stabbed her 100 times with a butcher knife, before hosting his friends to a house party while the corpse was still in their apartment, in March, 2012, when he was only 16, the Miami Herald reports.
The 19 year old Darrant admitted in court to the crime of killing his 35-year-old mother, Renette Emile, pleading guilty to violently offing his mom and then throwing a house party with her body still there.
Darrant took a plea deal in a Miami-Dade court, agreeing to a 28-year prison sentence in the second-degree murder of his mother.
He reportedly told the judge:
"The man that I am now is not the boy that I used to be. Actions speak louder than words, and I intend to prove that to you."
Family sources told the police that the agitated teen killed his mom during an after-school argument, a regular occurrence which often ranged from taking her car without permission, smoking marijuana to drinking, family told police.
After the gruesome murder, Darrant then skipped classes at Dr. Krop High School for the next week as his mother's body decayed on her bedroom floor. He simply covered her with blankets and detergent to mask the stench.
He even took care of his 3-year-old brother until his aunt stopped by and discovered Emile's corpse.
