For a new mother who gave birth on October 28, 2015, the joy of motherhood has been diminished in her as the hospital where she put to bed has detained her and her new baby over the inability of her husband to pay the sum of N150,000, out of the N200,000 they were charged.

According to a live interview the 23-year-old lady, Blessing Godwin, an indigene of Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, had with VOC News, the health facility, Mater Christi, a specialist hospital located at 8, Bishop Okogie Street, off Ago Palace Way, Lagos, has refused to let her and the new born baby girl to leave as they have vowed every kobo must be paid before releasing her.

Her jobless husband, Godwin, could only pay N50,000 from the hospital bill, with an outstanding bill of N150,000 and as a result of the inability to pay up the complete bill, the poor woman has been detained by the hospital management.

The VOC News has however called on public spirited Nigerians to come to the aid of Blessing so that she could be allowed to go home and take care of her new baby.

We are also calling on kind hearted Nigerians to reach Blessing Godwin on 07018162451, 09038948316.

She will be very grateful.
