Miners discover giant Jade boulder worth £140m [Photo]
A search for rare gems by a group of miners leads to the scoop of a life time.
Weighing 175 tonnes and measuring 9ft high and 18ft long, this is one of the world's most valuable pieces of Jade, Telegraph reports.
The miners were searching for rare gems at a remote mine in Kachin state when they made the whooping discovery.
This Jade piece is second only to the carved statue at the Jade Buddha Palace in China which weighs a whopping 260 tonnes.
According to reports, Burma is the world's largest producer of Jadeite and gets half its GDP from the $50 billion a year industry.
The piece will soon be sent to China where it would be cut into smaller, wearable or sizable pieces as jewelries or sculptures.
