Parents of civil rights leaders says she is black

Rachel Dolezal, a local National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) leader has been exposed by her mum and dad as being white.

According to her parents she had been deceiving people that she is black for years.

Dolezal is the NAACP Chapter President at Spokane, and is also a part-time African Studies professor at a Eastern Washington University.

Her parents claim that she has been posing as an African American even though she was born Caucasian. "She’s our birth daughter and we’re both of European descent. We’re puzzled and it’s very sad" said Larry Dolezal to Buzzfeed.

“It’s very sad that Rachel has not just been herself,” said Mrs Dolezal. Rachel's brother Izalah, is however black but he is adopted.

During an interview with ABC KXLY, Rachel walked out when questioned if she was African-American.

Rachel Dolezal's bizarre story has gone viral with many condemning her act. Author Jon Ronson says she should not be condemned for her act.
