Arrested teen garners support from Silicon valley, White House
A teen was arrested for bringing what was believed to be a bomb to school, now he's getting invited to the White House.
The arrest has received widespread condemnation as an act of stereotyping.
Meanwhile, the tech world has rallied behind the teenager. He received not only words of encouragement, but invites to spend time with some of the biggest names in tech, and the biggest name in power, Obama.
Here's what the President of The United States said:
Not only did Twitter verify his newly opened Twitter account, they offered him an internship position.
Reddit too,
And there's Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg who posted on his Facebook page;
"You’ve probably seen the story about Ahmed, the 14 year old student in Texas who built a clock and was arrested when he took it to school.
Having the skill and ambition to build something cool should lead to applause, not arrest. The future belongs to people like Ahmed.
Ahmed, if you ever want to come by Facebook, I'd love to meet you. Keep building."
Support came from lots more other people and places, including Foursquare, Hillary Clinton, and some top shots at NASA.
