A woman who recently found herself without a roof for the night after missing the last train home from London was so inspired by how her evening was transformed by a homeless man that she decided to raise money for him.

After spending the day in London, Nicole Sedgebeer missed her last train back to Milton Keynes — leaving her without shelter until the next train the following morning.

Her battery on her phone had died and she was very unfamiliar with the area. Highly distressed, Nicole said she met her "homeless friend Mark" just as she was about to "burst into drunken tears."

Mark led Nicole to shelter and escorted her back to Euston station the next morning.

After her facebook post narrating the incident went viral, Nicole decided to help set up a crowdfunding page to help him, which has already raised thousands of pounds.

The crowdfunding page has received over 800 donation so far.

As they were reunited for the first time on ITV London, Mark explained that it was a policeman who informed him that the story was all over social media and commended him for his actions.

"It's really nice that someone's done this because it brings a light to reality," he said. Mark, who has three children himself, hope someone would do the same for them if they were in need.

"I'd hope that someone would do this for my daughter. If they didn't I'd be disappointed in humanity. The fact that I live on the streets doesn't matter, doesn't make me any less of a person."

Nicole has since raised over £11,000 (6 million Naira) for him.
