As her mother recorded herself telling her daughter that her daddy was going to be a ‘her’, the little girl was pleasantly surprised.

‘Daddy’s a she now?!’ she exclaimed, before letting her mum know that she felt good about the situation.

Her mother explained: ‘Daddy doesn’t feel happy as a boy. So, we have decided to help daddy become the person that his brain and his heart tell him that he really is.

‘So, now daddy’s going to wear some makeup and wear girls clothes and maybe grow daddy’s hair out. So what do you think about all of that, baby?’

Although it may seem a lot to take in, the girl was quick to answer.

With a smile, she firmly said: ‘Good.’

And that was it. No questions asked, no upset, no confusion. The little girl accepted her dad’s decision and let him know how much she still loved him.

She said: ‘Daddy, I love you so much. Even though you’re a ‘her’, I still love you.’
