Video of Frozen-solid fish returning 'to life' goes viral
Watch as this frozen fish comes back to life after being put into a bucket of water.
The video, reportedly filmed in Jiangsu Province, China shows a man remove a frozen-solid fish from a freezer, place it into a bucket and slowly the fish defrosts in the water for about one minute before starting to move slowly.
Another healthy fish was placed in it and the fish gradually starts moving faster and easier until it appears indistinguishable from the healthy fish.
While some people have called the video fake, the video is not edited.
YouTube user Vuk Nikolic explained that 'They probably put the fish in the deep freezer with the high humidity for about 1 to 3 minutes and them warm water. The surface of the body was evidently temporarily frozen. Physiological "resurrection" is possible as long as the nerve system and heart haven't got completely frozen.'
Experts also suggested that the events on screen are made possible by "antifreeze proteins" in the fish's body that prevent its cells from being damaged by the process.
