This pictures reveal why you should never allow a child to ride alone in an escalator.

1-yr-old girl loses SIX fingers in escalator accident

An innocent little girl lost six of her fingers after getting two hands stuck in an escaltaor.

The one-year-old was walking down the moving staircase with her grandfather when she suddenly falls down, using her hands to soften her fall.

The child's hand then gets sucked into the mechanism, before her relative races to pull her free.

She was taken to hospital immediately as rescuers spent over an hour to dismantle the escalator and retrieve the severed fingers.

The girl underwent 10 hours to try to reattach her fingers, but it is not known if movement will be restored.

The incident took place at a shopping mall in Beijing, China and is one of a number of devastating accidents.

Some few months back, a baby lost her arm in a freak escalator accident and a boy had his leg amputated after getting dragged into escalator by his untied shoelaces.
