Singer Ed Sheeran has announced he is taking a break from social media as he is seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes.

The message read:
Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see anything I missed. To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing.

Sheeran has 16 million Twitter and 5.5 million Instagram followers.
He has just completed a world tour of his number one album x (pronounced "multiply") in Auckland, New Zealand.
Before the final show, he also tweeted that he was "buggering off for a while".
"I have to have an operation in January on my ear because I stupidly jumped off a yacht really high up and smashed it," he said of the accident that happened in Spain earlier this year.
Sheeran added that after the surgery to repair his eardrum, he's not allowed to fly for a while. "So it's kind of good, it means I have to stay at home."

His second album x topped the chart in the UK, Australia and the US and was nominated for album of the year at the Grammys. It won the Brit award in the same category.
In September this year a source told The Sun that his third album would “include sounds and influences from around the world, particularly Africa.”
