Five suspected vandals were arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, for stealing petrol causing pipeline vandalism.

The corps has stepped up its fight against oil pipeline vandals.
This happened at the Ibafo area of Ogun State. The suspects and their ages are Banwo Olaide (38), Kabiru Rahimi (13), Tunde Rahimi (25), Disu Toheeb (27), and Jamiu Koleosho(33).
According to the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Kareem Olanrewaju, the suspects were arrested near the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s pipelines at Ibafo, in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.
The NSCDC has stepped up its her efforts to battle crimes related to pipeline vandalism by charging their officers to be diligent in their duties.
Akinwande Aboluwoye, the Ogun State Commandant of the Corps said, the new strategy adopted by the corps in the command was yielding positive results.
He made it known that pipeline vandals re going to have it tough as long as they continue to engage in their illegal act.
The NSCDC team recovered two buses with number plates, GGE 94 3XL, and APP 123XH, 87 fifty-litre jerrycans containing petrol, five handsets, N50,000 cash, and some documents from the vandals.
