72-year-old landlady docked for stealing tenant’s N500,000

A 72-year-old landlady has been docked for allegedly stealing money from her tenant as well as forcefully ejecting him from her house.

A 72-year-old Lagos landlady, Bamidele Ogboro, has shown that there is no age limit when it comes to committing a crime after she was arrested and charged to court for allegedly stealing her tenant's N500,000.

She did not stop at that as she showed the man whose name was given as Ejikeme Hypolite, that she is the owner of the house when she ejected him out of her house located at 6, Shopeju Street, Shogunle, in the state.

Ogboro was dragged to the Oshodi Magistrates’ Court on the charges of breach of peace, conspiracy and stealing.

She allegedly committed the crimes on March 2, 2015, at her residence, according to the police prosecutor in the case, Cpl. Kehinde Olatunde.

Olatunde said that the accused hired some thugs to forcefully eject Hypolite from her house after stealing his money.

"The accused hired five men to damage the complainant’s door so as to gain entrance into his room.

She then threw the complainant’s property outside from his apartment and locked it up.

The complainant said that the missing N500,000 was the house rent amount he had earlier given to his landlord which she rejected then.

Other documents include his primary school leaving certificate and his university certificate."
