70-yr-old man caught stealing says he has to cater for his family
A 70-year-old man has been arrested for being part of a robbery gang and he says he feeds his large family from crime proceeds.
Nasiru also confessed that his last wife is a 13-year-old girl and he had to take care of her adequately, hence his involvement in crime.
“I have been in this business for three years. I use it to feed my three wives and their 11 children.
My last wife is 13-years-old and I got married to her last year."
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Magaji Musa Majia, who paraded the septuagenarian alongside other criminals, said on February 22, 2016, a victim of armed robbery reported to the police that a gang of four armed men robbed him.
“Our Ambush Squad immediately went into action and arrested one and Alhaji Muntari Nasiru aged 70, who actively participated in the operation.
They confessed to the crime and mentioned the other members of the syndicate and the Command have spread its dragnet."
