Another young soldier killed by Boko Haram

Another young Nigerian soldier, Lt. Ibrahim Haruna, has been killed by the Boko Haram sect while fighting for his fatherland.

A young military officer of the Nigerian Army, Lt. Ibrahim Haruna, has been felled by the Boko Haram insurgents in a battle to keep his fatherland together.

The sad incident which saw Lt. Haruna killed by the sect, took place in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on Sunday, 8 February, 2015, in what is now becoming a pattern where young soldiers are sent to the war front without adequate weapons to tackle the fully prepared insurgents.

According to friends of the late Haruna, he was in a team that was ambushed by the sect and in a fierce battle, he was gunned down alongside other soldiers.

Lt. Haruna left behind a young family consisting of his wife and a two-old son.

In the past few years, the dreaded sect have succeeded in killing many promising military officers including the ranks and file.

May their souls rest in peace.
