26-yr-old man charged with rape of a 19-yr-old lady
A young man from a very good home has been charged to court for raping a 19-year-old lady.
The prosecutor in the case, DSP Etim Nkankuk, narrated that John committed the offence of 'forceful sexual intercourse' on May 11 at Vantage Restaurant, Lekki area of the state.
Nkankuk told the court that John's mother had sent him to go and check the exchange rate of naira to the dollar but instead of going on the errand he was sent, he used his mother's car, a Honda Civic Jeep, to pick the lady to the restaurant where he forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
The prosecutor said that the accused had invited the teenage lady on a date and in the process, asked her for sex but when she refused, he forcefully raped her, squeezing her neck in the process.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him and Chief Magistrate Olatunbosun Abolarinwa granted him bail in the sum of N250,000, while the case was adjourned to June 18, 2015, for either mention or settlement between both sides.
