President-elect changes Twitter handle 3 months after joining platform

Nigerian president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has changed his Twitter handle, @ThisisBuhari, barely three months after joining the social medium platform.

The President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari and First Lady, Aishat Buhari, have changed their Twitter addresses.

In a statement from State Craft Inc, Buhari and his wife have changed their former Twitter accounts, @ThisIsBuhari and @IAmAishaBuhari and will no longer be connected to either party.

While the president-elect will now communicate and give updates on his duties through @MBuhari, his wife, Aisha Buhari will now tweet from the @ABuhari.

The statement further noted that latest news and updates on both as they transit into being the First Family, will be communicated through the @MBuhari and @ABuhari accounts.

While Buhari joined Twitter on December 22, 2014,soon after winning the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, gaining a following of several thousand within hours, his wife joined on March 15, 2015.
