Can The Creation Of More States In Nigeria Bring About Development?

The recently concluded National Conference has recommended that 18 new states be created in Nigeria to add to the existing 36 to make up 54 states. This recommendation has drawn lots of debate amongst Nigerian with many condemning the calls while others are all for it with different arguments, for and against it.

While some see the creation of more states as a key to development, others see it as a selfish means to satisfy disgruntled politicians who are clamouring for the creation of states for their self-seeking desires.
