Man arraigned for punching woman

34-yr-old Olapade Alden has been arraigned before the court on a one-count charge of assault.

The suspect identified as, Olapade Alden, who is reported to have assaulted the woman with blows, is facing a one-count charge of assault, Punch reports.

According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Rasak Olayiwola, the accused committed the offence on June 27 at about 2pm at EledamAsun Street, Ilesa Motor Park, Osogbo.

The court heard that Alden dealt the victim identified as, Akeem Faisat, several blows, inflicting several injuries in the process over a disagreement between them.

Olayiwola said that the offence contravened Section 351 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003. Alden however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Olowolagba, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in the like sum, of which must reside within the court's jurisdiction and have evidence of tax payment to the government.

She adjourned the case to November 17 for mention.
