Trader sentenced to 18 years in jail, 10 strokes for raping daughter

A trader in Malaysia has received the wrath of the law for raping his 10-year old daughter.

According to blogger, Linda Ikeji, the court judge, Ahmad Bazli Bahruddin imposed the sentence after the 50-year-old pleaded guilty. The judge ordered the sentence to begin on Oct 13, 2017, the date he was arrested.

The accused was said to have raped his daughter at an unnumbered house in Beris Kubur Besar, Bachok, in Malaysia. It was reported that the trader had gone to the house of his ex-wife to get his daughter to stay with him, she, however, refused to accompany him.

After immense pressure from the victim's mother, she finally agreed to follow her father to his house. When the victim was sent home by her sister, her mother noticed she was behaving differently and questioned her.

The victim then told her mother that she had been raped and that this was not the first time.

On Oct 12, the father went to the victim's house again and wanted to take her to his house, but the mother refused to allow him to take the girl. Thereafter, the mother then lodged a report to the police accusing the father of raping the minor.
