Lagos police did not arrest cross-dresser then who did?

The Lagos State Police Command through two of its representatives, denied arresting Bobrisky.

His detention came shortly after revealing that he is gay, proving an earlier suspicion by his followers and the society in general, but that is not sufficient reason to be apprehended, Festus Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) submits.

Edgal Imohimi, the acting Lagos State Police Commissioner stated that he is oblivious of the arrest of the bleaching cream expert likewise the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, SP Dolapo Badmos.

“I don’t know about the arrest, and the command did not arrest him. He does not have any problem with the command . Ask him who arrested him," Imohimi told Punch News in an interview.

There have been rumours that the incident occurred due to a rivalry between Bobrisky and Toyin Lawani, who according to reports felt betrayed about sharing her clients with the cross-dresser.

The latter in a chat with Linda Ikeji's Blog, denied ever working for the fashion stylist who insisted on an apology from him on social media but her interest was not fulfilled. A possible for the involvement of the police.

”Toyin Lawani asked her lawyer to write petitions against me that I worked for her and I’m selling cream to all her customers. Which was a fat lie.

"I never worked for Toyin. She was my friend. I can’t remember ever working for Toyin or learning how to make cream from her.

”Then she also said I threatened her. So we are going to Abuja because that was where the case was reported.

"Before she wrote petitions against me, she had already threatened me that she is giving me seven days to go to the internet and apologize to her which I said no way because she offended me.

"I think because I refused to apologize, she got the police involved," he submitted.

Meanwhile, gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi has sent out words of encouragement to Bobrisky in the difficult time assuring him of support.

Alimi currently holds the position of a social pariah in Nigeria following the admittance of his gay status on a live television programme anchored by Funmi Iyanda. The HIV diagnosed homosexual received death threats as a result.
