The Suya seller was said to have gone to the palace of the Sarki Hausawa to report the incident and the traditional ruler, Alhaji Adamu Ahmed Gaya, was said to have pacified him and promised to pay for the damage but the next day, the Suya seller was allegedly shot dead by two assailants on a motorcycle.

The Suya seller's colleagues suspected Ahmed in the murder and on sighting him on an Okada later, pursued and killed him near Alaba Rago area before moving to his father's palace and set it ablaze.

The situation would have gotten out of hand but for the intervention of the Area Commander of Area 'E' Command, ACP Auwal Musa, the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad [RRS], ACP Tunji Disu and Officers of OP Mesa who were quickly drafted to the area to maintain peace.
