A young man suspected to be a drug addict has murdered his own father.

A drug addict son has murdered his father

A young man suspected to be a drug addict, has allegedly clubbed his 69-year-old father to death after the old man, identified as Baba Basirat, attempted to take him to a hospital for a spiritual deliverance over his drug problems.

The sad incident happened at the deceased residence at 25, Akintobi Badejo Street, Sabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

It was gathered that the younger man had been giving the family a tough time with his behaviour and everyone thought it was a spiritual attack and the best way to deal with it was to take him for a deliverance but on the day they were scheduled to go for it, he became violent and attacked his father, killing him in the process.

The victim, an indigene of Ogbomoso, Oyo State, was said to have been rushed to Mercy Hospital in Onikolobo area of Abeokuta where he was confirmed dead.
