Kola Adigun and 33 other suspected political thugs and cultists have been arrested by men of the Ondo State police.
One of the most wanted and notorious cultist in Ondo State, Kola Adigun, has been arrested by men of the state police command.
Adigun who was paraded before newsmen admitted to be a member of the Eiye Confraternity, but however revealed that he had renounced his allegiance.
Kola Adigun also admitted his involvement in political thuggery, and revealed that he alongside other cultist has been a menace to the state.
Kola Adigun who said he is an APC supporter advised the police that they have to ensure that another notorious thug, Ade Basket be arrested so the state can have a peaceful election.
About 33 political thugs and cult members have also been arrested for their involvement in violence across the state.
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Isaac Eke, the suspects were arrested as part of its effort to make sure the state has a peaceful and successful election.
“The Ondo State Police Command will ensure that the elections are peaceful and devoid of bloodshed. The suspects that have been arrested will be investigated and prosecuted. They will not be given the chance to be involved in any violence before and after the elections,” Isaac Eke said.
He added that the arrests were made possible by the co-operation of the public who were very helpful.
“I must also add that the command was able to make the arrests through the robust relationship the police have with the members of the public,” he said.
