Man docked over alleged theft of alloy rims

The court granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 and a surety in like sum.

The accused, whose address is unknown, is facing a one-count charge of stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Akpan Ikem, told the court that the accused committed the offence on June 3 at a shopping complex located at Market Road, Badagry.

He added that the accused was supposed to deliver the items to a customer.

“The accused was supposed to carry the alloy rims to a customer that purchased them but instead of doing that, he took the rims and resold them,’’ he said.

Ikem noted that the offence committed contravened Section 285 of the Criminal laws of Lagos State, Nigeria (2015).

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Jimoh Adefioye, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N200,000 and a surety in like sum.

The case was adjourned till July 7, for further hearing.
