A 29-year-old man is now in prison for raping an 11-year-old girl.

Rape is a serious crime

Mudassiru Abdullahi, a 29-year-old man from Borindawa village in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, has been remanded in prison custody pending when his case will be heard on July 12, 2015, for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl.

Abdullahi appeared before Magistrate Nafisa Bagiwa of a Senior Magistrates’ Court in the state on a one-count charge of rape.

The Police First Information Report (FIR) showed that the accused defiled the minor on June 2 at about 7:30 pm.

The case was reported to at the Malumfashi Police State by one Murtala Musa who informed the police that Abdullahi criminally deceived his younger sister into his room and had sexual intercourse with her.

The FIR also stated that the victim was taken to Malumfashi General Hospital where she was examined and treated for injuries she sustained when she was raped by Abdullahi.

An angry Bagiwa did not take the plea of the accused, claming him in prison while she directed that the case file should be forwarded to the state Ministry of Justice for advice.
