Man threatens to kill family members of 14-yr-old girl he raped

After raping a 14-year-old girl, a thug in Lagos gathered his boys to beat up father of his victim for daring to report him to the police.

Assaulted girl

It was gathered that the suspect identified as Wasiu, who is known in the community as King of Boys, had waylaid the girl whose name was given as Favour, at about 9.30pm when she was sent on an errand, and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her and warned her not to tell anyone or he would kill her.

But when the girl got home, she informed her parents who reported the rape to the (Baale) the traditional head of the area and he was called in for questioning.

After he left the palace, he mobilised his boys and went after the victim's family house on Alayabiagba Street, and beat up and injured the father with broken bottles, after which he threatened that if the family made a noise about the rape, he would kill them all.

But the man went to the Ajegunle Police Division to report the matter and the suspect was duly arrested.

The victim's older brother who identified himself as Simeon, said Wasiu and his boys have been giving his family sleepless nights.

“My sister was sent to buy a candle and noodles in the neighbourhood. It was some minutes before 10pm. She was accosted by the rapist, and when she raised the alarm, he covered her mouth with clothes and raped her.

The annoying part was that the man came to our house and threatened to deal with us if we made a noise over the incident.

He came with thugs and beat up my father. He was injured; broken bottles were used on him, he threatened to kill me too.

I took pictures of the broken bottles and my father’s bloodstained clothes. We reported at the Ajegunle division and the case is presently at the Juvenile Welfare Department of the station,” Simeon said.
