Bus driver vows to die as VIO attempts to impound vehicle

A commercial bus driver caused a scene when VIO and LASTMA officials attempted to impound his vehicle over a traffice offence.

This driver wants to be killed before his vehicle can be pounded

The way some law enforcement officials hound Nigerian citizens is surely driving some people crazy. If it is not the police, it is the soldiers, LASTMA, KAI, even Man O'War members who take the laws into their hands to brutalize Nigerians.

It is now the turn of the Vehicle Inspection officers, VIO, who have been terrorising drivers in Lagos.

This morning, around the Muson Center/TBS area of Lagos Island, a combined team of VIO and LASTMA officials accosted a commercial bus driver who committed a traffic offence and in the usual manner, they made to impound his bus (according to those who know, the man would have to pay nothing less than N50,000 to get his vehicle back).

But they must have stoked the wrong flame as the man stripped off and went under his vehicle and told the officials to kill him instead of taking the source of his livelihood from him.

The traffic build up from the incident was another thing entirely.
