A sex worker named Joy has been stabbed to death by yet to be known persons at Idowu Taylor Street in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The killing according to Punch seems to have happened on Sunday, January 18; Joy’s body was discovered dead in a pool of blood from the stabbing on Monday, January 19 at about 3.30am.

Joy was stabbed to death at a car park on Idowu Taylor Street used by staffs of organisations on the street. Her corpse was later taken away by policemen from the Victoria Island Police Division.

A resident in the area, Mr. Affez Ibrahim told Punch that he suspects that Joy might have been killed by people trying to rob her. It was also revealed that Joy was much liked by people on the street who have often times in the past tried to help her so she could leave the job.

Joy who is reported to be from Delta State has two children, a girl and a boy. According to the newspaper, Joy had sent her daughter to stay with a relative in Port Harcourt and was with her three-year-son on Sunday night when she was believed to have been stabbed to death.

Another resident who didn’t want his identity revealed, told Punch that Joy’s son simply known as Emmanuel, said he saw some men in black around his mother.

“The boy is just about three years old. He was sleeping some metres away from his mother. When the people tried to find out what happened from the boy, he simply said he saw some men in black around his mother. I feel the boy was actually asleep and might not have seen the assailants clearly enough,” the resident told Punch.

DSP Kenneth Nwosu, Lagos State Police Spokesperson confirmed the incident and told Punch that the police were investigating to apprehend the killers.
