Gunmen ambush police patrol, kill one
Unknown gunmen have reportedly ambushed a police patrol team, killing one.
The disclosure was made by the state Commissioner of Police, CP, Abubakar Sadiq-Bello, on Friday, November 11, in Lafia, during a press conference, Daily Post reports.
Bello disclosed that the police patrol team was ambushed two weeks ago along Obi-Agwatashi road.
Daily Post reports that the police CP remained mum on the identity and rank of the deceased.
Consoling the family of the deceased officer, Bello prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
He said, “The Police would arrest the killers and prosecute them.
“The incident is unfortunate and part of the hazards policemen encounter in the line of duty.
“Members of the public must continually support the efforts of the police in order to curb crime and criminality in the state,” the CP concluded.
May the soul of the deceased rest in peace.
