A South Carolina family is speaking out after Internet trolls have attacked a photo of their toddler who was born with a rare condition.

According to WCBD 2-year-old Mariah Anderson suffers from Chromosome Two Duplication Syndrome which impairs her learning and motor skills.

The child recently celebrated her second birthday and her mother, Kyra Pringle posted a photo of her child to Facebook. But the post made Mariah a viral sensation for all the wrong reasons.

People started attacking and mocking the child’s appearance. The photo was reportedly shared thousands of times and turned into memes.

“If you’re out there and you’re doing these things, and you think that it’s funny, it’s not funny,” said Linda Pringle, Mariah’s grandmother.

“This is actually a human being, this is a child, this is a baby,” Linda said.
