Police nab 6-man gang accused of vandalism
The suspects were arrested for the destruction and theft of light-up cables installed by the Lagos State Government.
They were nabbed at the early hours of Monday, October 17, 2016 at CMS bus stop in Lagos.
Paraded before newsmen, the suspects, Jelili Abodunrin, 32, Tunde Alaba, 29, Taofeek Oyedele, 28, Saheed Ismail, 27, Sunday Obasanmi, 27, and Deji Afolorunso, 26, revealed that they have been residing under the bridge for a period of four years.
According to the Daily Post News, they specialize in vandalizing and stealing light-up cable wires, street lamps and light poles recently installed by the Lagos State Government.
SP Dolapo Badmos, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the suspects were arrested during a patrol by RRS agents.
They were caught in the act of pulling down street lamps, cables and poles.
The suspects have been handed over to the Lagos State Environmental Task Force for prosecution, Badmos stated.
