Court remands manager over N3m petrol theft
Ojiezele said that the accused conspired with others now at large to commit the offence by stealing 20, 993 litres of petrol.
The Prosecutor, Insp Monday Ojiezele, told the court that the accused committed the offence between December 2016 and May 2017 at Rechadee Petrol Filling Station, Arubidi Street, Ile-Ife, where Moshood was the manager.
Ojiezele said that the accused conspired with others now at large to commit the offence by stealing 20, 993 litres of petrol valued at over N3 million, property of one Babatunde Kazeem.
He alleged that Olabode received 2, 744 litres of petrol from Moshood, knowing that the fuel was stolen.
According to him, the offence was contrary to section 383 and punishable under sections 390 (8a), 427 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode asked the defence counsel, Mrs Innocental Akhigbe, to present a written application for bail of her clients.
Ijiyode ordered the remand of the accused in prison and adjourned the case till July 5.
