3 men remanded over alleged armed robbery
They are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, armed robbery and murder.
The Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, ordered the remand of Kazeem Oyewale, 33, Tajudeen Olajide, 33, and Ramon Olayide, 25.
The pleas of the accused were not taken by the court, which adjourned the matter until May 23 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Elisha Olusegun, told court that the accused people committed the offences on Oct. 6, 2016 at about 2:00 a.m. at Pavilion Hotel in Osogbo.
Olusegun said that the accused people were armed with dangerous weapons, including guns, machetes and charms, conspiring among themselves with others now at large to rob members of the public.
He said the men attempted to murder one Oyeyemi Dauda by inflicting injuries on him before they were apprehended by police.
The prosecutor said that it took the effort of police detectives to arrest and brought the suspects to court.
The offences contravened Sections 1(2) (3) (a) (b) and Section 6(b) punishable under Section 1(1) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R11 Vol.14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The prosecutor said the offences also contravened Sections 516, 320(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 vol.11 Laws of Osun State, 2002.
