Man hacked to death two months to wedding

The suspect invited the victim to his place to collect the money he owes him but with an ulterior motives of killing him.

Lawal Afolabi Kunbi was a business man and also a undergraduate of business administration at Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo. Striving through hard live to fed for himself and was also preparing for his wedding in December until tragedy struck.

In a vanguard report, the deceased, who owned a provision store at Olorunfunmi Street in Oworo area of Lagos, on Thursday was murdered by Aliu, someone he sold his motorcycle to in order to raise money to pay his school fees about a month ago.

According to the suspect confessions, the plan to kill Kunbi was hatched by him and his friends, he invited the victim to his place to collect the money he owes him but with an ulterior motives of killing him.

The suspect reportedly, chopped off his fingers, and strangle him, it must have been a struggle because marks of violence were apparent all over the victim’s body.

Neighbour’s and search party looking for kunbi after his sudden disappearance noticed the usual movement of Aliu and decided to trail him, the suspect was caught as he was trying to use water to clean up the blood stains in his apartment.

Although, Aliu and his gang where almost mobbed by the angered audience, they escape the attack by the firing of tear gas by the policemen.

Confirming the incident the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Joe Offor, a Deputy Superintendent of Police said the suspects have been arrested and investigation was still ongoing.
