Man, 21, arraigned for allegedly defiling 2-year-old
The accused, a computer operator, who resides at 65, Ifesowapo St., Ijegun, suburb of Lagos is being tried for defilement.
The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu told the court that the offence was committed on March 22 at the accused’s residence.
Ogu said that Arogun defiled the two year-old baby in his house.
“The accused fingered his neighbour’s daughter until the girl started bleeding."
“It was the cry of the girl that attracted the neighbours and the accused was apprehended,’’ he said.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Arogun, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge, and the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni granted him a bail of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Akanni adjourned the case till April 26 for mention.
