Two men, Iwezie Izuchukwu, 29, and Samuel Obi, 19, who allegedly altered the expiry dates on some imported tyres were on Wednesday arraigned in an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The defendants are facing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and alteration.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendants and others now at large, committed the offences between Nov. 20, 2016 and March 23, at No. 109, Ladipo St., Mushin, Lagos.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.

Adelaja adjourned the case till May 10 for hearing.
